BiFab's track record of successful projects for jacket sub-structures for offshore wind farms includes:

  • Beatrice - Two jacket sub-structures
  • Alpha Ventus - Six jacket sub-structures
  • Gwynt Y Mor – Two OSP jacket sub-structures
  • Greater Gabbard – Two OSP jacket sub-structures
  • Beatrice – Twenty Six jacket sub-structures
  • Beatrice – Two OTM jacket substructures

The two support structures for the experimental Beatrice DOWNVInD project was sponsored by Talisman, SSE, European Commission, DTI and the Scottish Executive and became the deepest offshore wind installation in the world when it was installed in 2006.

BiFab continues to expand this side of the business and is now one of the leading suppliers of jacket support structures for offshore wind turbines in Europe.

BiFab can offer a complete EPC solution for up to 150 jackets per year.

In addition to jacket sub-structures for turbines, BiFab can also supply Monopiles and Pin Piles, again on an EPC basis. BiFab has completed a £6m investment at the BiFab Arnish facility, which has included the procurement of additional rolling and welding equipment allowing us to roll individual steel plates up to 150mm thick, in plate widths of 4m.
